Criminal Defence in Adelaide

CRIMINAL LAW

At Vadasz Lawyers we have a depth of experience in the area of criminal law that surpasses most South Australian firms.

Vadasz Lawyers have provided defence for over 80 murders and over a hundred appeals, this level of experience is second to none.

Whether you have been arrested or charged with a criminal offence, it is important that you receive counsel from an experienced criminal lawyer as the criminal legal system is daunting and complex.

The type of criminal work we do on a daily basis includes bail applications, guilty pleas and trials, as well as superior court appeals and applications such as judicial review and challenging applications by the Director of Public Prosecutions for confiscation of profits.

Our firm has extensive experience in defence work for all offences including, but not limited to, drug trafficking, violence, theft, fraud, sexual matters, murders, and driving offences including death by dangerous driving. Not only do we have over four decades of experience in these matters, we also have an impressive track record of successful results.

As well as criminal and traffic law, the firm accepts instructions in the areas of crimes confiscation and criminal injuries compensation.

COUNSEL WORK

Vadasz Lawyers not only takes instructions from clients and prepares their cases, it also undertakes the counsel work. We appear daily in all levels of the courts from Adelaide Magistrates Court to the District Court and the Supreme Court, conducting trials before a judge and jury.

APPEALS

Vadasz Lawyers has a history of vigorously pursuing appeals in the Court of Criminal Appeal and, where appropriate, the High Court of Australia. We have appeared as counsel in well over 100 appeals against sentence and conviction. We have been successful in having convictions overturned and sentences significantly reduced. We also represent clients in cases where the Director of Public Prosecutions appeals on the basis that they consider the sentence inadequate.
